About The Customer
Albawaba is a leading pan-Arab news and information portal that has been operating since 2000. The portal covers a wide range of topics, including breaking news, business, politics, entertainment, health & beauty, lifestyle, sports, satire, and more, in both Arabic and English. Albawaba publishes original articles, syndicated articles from the region’s leading publishers, and produces original slideshow stories and news round-ups in video format. The majority of Albawaba's mobile traffic comes from the GCC countries.
The Challenge
Albawaba, a leading pan-Arab news and information portal, was facing challenges with its mobile site and app, both of which were created by a third-party vendor. The existing solutions were not meeting the company's user experience or monetization expectations. The majority of Albawaba's mobile traffic comes from the GCC countries, and the company was looking to reach new audiences, maximize mobile monetization, and increase user engagement. The company wanted to implement a dynamic, multi-screen strategy that would address all mobile devices and operating systems.
The Solution
Albawaba partnered with Marfeel to create a new mobile website and mobile apps for both Android and iOS. The new mobile website is mobile-adaptive, native, and monetization-driven, taking user experience into consideration and driving deeper engagement, which contributes directly to optimized ad revenue. Marfeel's proprietary technology is used to continually analyze and optimize data, ensuring a better presentation and layout of content, while substantially increasing revenues. The new mobile solutions are responsive, dynamic, and update over time to address new developments in mobile technology and optimize monetization efforts.
