About The Customer
Aruba S.p.A., founded in 1994, is the leader in web hosting, email, and domain name registration in Italy. The company serves over two million customers and specializes in a wide range of services including cloud computing, hosting, certified email, digital signatures, dedicated servers, CNS, CMS, remote digital signature, and more. After 20 years of service in the industry, Aruba S.p.A is ranked among the top 5 European and top 10 global hosting companies.
The Challenge
Aruba, a leading web hosting, email, and domain name registration company in Italy, was facing a significant challenge with the rise of DDoS attacks. The evolution of cyber-attacks in recent years had changed the info-security threat landscape, and Aruba's existing defenses were no longer sufficient. The company needed a solution that could not only mitigate DDoS attacks but also guarantee service availability for its two million customers and subscribers. The ideal solution would react immediately, with no false positive events, in cases of attacks blocking millions of packets per seconds of malicious traffic. It would also need to fit within the existing network topology and provide a scalable approach according to capacity planning constraints.
The Solution
Aruba chose Radware’s DefensePro to provide DDoS mitigation and SSL-based protection. This solution fully protects applications and networks against known and emerging threats. Aruba’s SOC team is responsible for attack detection and classification. After deep analysis of an event, DDoS attacks are diverted through Radware’s scrubbing center to be cleaned. The solution immediately filters the diverted traffic, allowing only legitimate traffic to pass. It ensures complete control by providing immediate mitigation against attacks and eradicating any impact on service availability. It provides a scalable and flexible solution as it is based on the maximum attack mitigation capacity needed, without being limited by the actual network physical topology.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
