About The Customer
Bitmovin is a leading provider of video development solutions for global digital media companies and service providers. Founded in 2012, the company has been at the forefront of the digital video streaming industry, known for its innovative solutions such as the world’s first commercial adaptive streaming player and a software-defined encoding service that runs on any cloud platform. Bitmovin is headquartered in Austria and is recognized as one of the top-ranked startups in the country. The company serves over 500 customers worldwide, offering flexible and scalable media encoding, playback, and analytics solutions. Bitmovin's products are designed to be easily integrated and customized, enabling seamless streaming experiences for users. As a cloud-native company, Bitmovin develops all its products in-house, maintaining a strong focus on research and innovation.
The Challenge
In the competitive video streaming industry, Bitmovin faced challenges with its manual onboarding and access management processes. As the company expanded its workforce globally, the need for efficient identity and access management became crucial. The manual processes were time-consuming, taking up to a week to onboard new employees, and the cumbersome access management led to frequent password resets and inefficiencies. Bitmovin needed a solution to streamline these processes, reduce the workload on its DevOps teams, and enable them to focus on innovation rather than IT issues.
The Solution
To address its challenges, Bitmovin implemented Okta's Workforce Identity solutions, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multifactor Authentication (MFA), and Lifecycle Management. These solutions allowed Bitmovin to automate 90% of its onboarding and offboarding processes, significantly reducing the time and effort required for these tasks. With SSO, Bitmovin's employees gained secure and straightforward access to applications through a single dashboard, eliminating the need for multiple passwords and reducing password reset requests by 97%. The integration of MFA enhanced security by using machine learning and behavioral analytics to assess login risks, preventing unauthorized access without adding friction to the user experience. Okta's Lifecycle Management enabled Bitmovin's HR team to trigger IT services' onboarding processes, ensuring that the right people had the right access at the right time. This automation freed up Bitmovin's DevOps teams to focus on innovation and feature development, rather than managing IT issues.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
