About The Customer
Clips & Clamps Industries (CCI) is a well-established company founded in 1954, located in Plymouth, Michigan. It specializes in supplying reliable metal stampings, s-clips, brackets, washers, wire forms, welded products, and assemblies to OEM and Tier 1 customers in the automotive industry. Over the years, CCI has built a reputation for continuously improving efficiencies and utilizing advanced technologies across its operations. The company has a strong commitment to innovation and operational excellence, which has allowed it to thrive in the competitive automotive sector. CCI's dedication to leveraging cutting-edge technology extends to its information systems, where it seeks to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.
The Challenge
Clips & Clamps Industries (CCI) was burdened by outdated and cumbersome legacy systems that were not user-friendly. The cost of upgrading its ERP and five other systems became prohibitively expensive, leading to inefficiencies and a lack of integration. This resulted in duplicate data entry and manual reconciliation, consuming valuable time and resources. The company recognized that maintaining and paying for regular upgrades to separate systems was not the most efficient use of its IT and financial resources. Additionally, the lack of integration among these systems forced the workforce to invest time in duplicate data entry, manual reconciliation of data and reports, and other inefficiencies.
The Solution
To address the challenges posed by its outdated systems, CCI implemented the Plex Manufacturing Cloud, a comprehensive and integrated cloud ERP solution. This single system replaced six separate systems previously used by CCI, consolidating various functions such as ERP, manufacturing execution systems (MES), quality management, customer relationship management (CRM), and shop floor integration. The Plex Manufacturing Cloud provides CCI with a unified view of operations, enabling real-time access to critical information through dashboards and reports. Employees can now leverage single points of data entry, eliminating duplication and manual reconciliation. The cloud-based nature of the solution ensures secure offsite data storage, reducing the need for costly servers and internal IT maintenance. Additionally, the system offers real-time software enhancements at no extra cost, eliminating the need for version upgrades.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
