About The Customer
Consolidated Transmission Parts, Inc. is a company based in Orlando, Florida, with two locations. The company has 50 employees and operates in the transmission parts and rebuilder industry. They offer both new and used automatic and standard transmission parts, as well as rebuilding services for standard shift transmissions. The company has experienced significant growth over the years, expanding from 25 customers in its database to more than 1,500 in just nine years. Their service-based philosophy has been a key factor in their success, with the company promising customers that they can 'make one call and find it all'.
The Challenge
Consolidated Transmission Parts (CTP) experienced significant growth, expanding from 25 customers to over 1,500 in just nine years. This rapid expansion led to the company outgrowing its Sage 50—U.S. Edition accounting software. The company needed a more robust and scalable solution that could handle its increased customer base and provide more sophisticated business insights. The challenge was to find a replacement software that could ensure a smooth transition from the old system, maintain the integrity of the data, and provide the necessary business perspective that the company needed to manage its growth.
The company also needed a system that could provide up-to-the-minute information on inventory to allow for a more strategic approach to management. The ability to know exactly how long a part has been in the warehouse and when to reorder was crucial. Additionally, the company needed a system that was easy to use and could be quickly learned by new salespeople.
The Solution
CTP chose to implement Sage 100 ERP as their new business management solution. The migration from Sage 50—U.S. Edition to Sage 100 ERP was completed over a weekend, with the old system closed out on Friday and the new system up and running by Monday. This smooth transition was facilitated by a certified Sage 50—U.S. Edition to Sage 100 ERP Conversion Specialist, who used the Sage 50—U.S. Edition Data Migrator tool.
The consultant assigned account numbers to more than 6,000 items containing two years’ worth of data, which were then transferred through the data migration tool, along with complete inventory quantities. The new system provided CTP with real-time information on inventory, enabling strategic management. The system also proved to be user-friendly, with new salespeople able to generate a sales invoice in less than an hour.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
