About The Customer
Logique Communications Inc. is a Toronto-based marketing and communications firm founded in the summer of 2004. The company offers a wide range of services in strategic marketing, corporate identity, web design, online advertising, packaging, print, and more. With a full-time staff of four people, Logique regularly hires freelancing designers, IT specialists, and project managers for each project. This structure allows the company to take on projects of all sizes while maintaining low overhead costs. The company's founder and Account Director, Cameron Murphy, has a business degree and his main focus is to manage the company and develop new customers.
The Challenge
Logique Communications Inc., a Toronto-based marketing and communications firm, was approached by Alpha Health and Wellness, a personal training company, to help them update their logo, business cards, and other marketing collateral. The company wanted to expand its core fitness offerings to a more holistic approach, including 'balance-of-life' and 'life coach' services. The challenge was to create a logo that conveyed a sense of positive energy flow. The initial creative brief included a triangular, spiral-shaped symbol that was to be the basis for the 'A's in the word ALPHA. The remaining letters 'LPH' were to be designed using a rounded, sans-serif font. The challenge was to create a visually pleasing symmetry while maintaining the essence of the brand.
The Solution
Logique Communications used CorelDRAW, a powerful graphic design software, to create the logo. CorelDRAW's intuitive features allowed the designer to easily select one or more nodes on a curve and drag them to a new position. The application provided an instant preview of what the new shape would look like, eliminating much of the guesswork from the workflow. With just a few keystrokes and mouse-clicks, the designer was able to create a copy of the newly designed 'A', flip it horizontally, and position it at the other end of the word to display a visually pleasing symmetry. CorelDRAW's flexible file sharing capabilities also allowed the designers at Logique to easily export files as simple PDF documents, which could be sent to clients for approval. For professional print jobs, CorelDRAW offered plenty of options.

The company manufactures packaging films on made to order or configure to order basis. Every order has a different set of requirements from the product characteristics perspective and hence requires machine’s settings to be adjusted accordingly. If the film quality does not meet the required standards, the degraded quality impacts customer delivery causes customer dissatisfaction and results in lower margins. The biggest challenge was to identify the real root cause and devise a remedy for that.

Zenon the Ideal Basis for An Ergonomic HMI
KHS develops and produces machines and equipment for filling and packaging in the drinks industry. Because drinks manufacturing, filling and packaging consist of a number of highly complex processes, the user-friendly and intuitive operation of equipment is increasingly gaining in significance. In order to design these processes as simple as possible for the user, KHS decided to introduce a uniform, transparent and standardized solution to the company. The HMI interface should meet the requirement for people with different qualifications and enable them to work on a standard platform.

Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
