The Challenge
Auto Credit of Austin, a dealership with multiple locations in the Austin, Texas area, was facing high costs associated with vehicle repossession. These costs included bailiff and legal fees, towing and storage charges, auction selling fees, and lost revenue from skipped payments. The dealership was looking for a solution to reduce these costs and improve their overall operations.
The Solution
The dealership implemented Spireon GoldStar GPS devices in all their vehicles. They also fully disclosed the use of GPS vehicle tracking to their customers. This combination resulted in more on-time payments, faster and easier vehicle locates, reduced loan default costs, lower repossession costs, and less manpower and time spent on repossession. Additionally, Auto Credit asked their recovery specialists to include the removal and return of the device as part of the services performed, which allowed them to reuse the device on another vehicle.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
