About The Customer
The client is a Paris-based International Organisation. They are involved in policy-making and regulation, and they were using policy simulators developed in VB and Dot Net. The client was seeking to improve the performance of these simulators and make them more cost-effective and time-efficient. They also wanted to enhance the user interface and user experience of these simulators, and they were interested in the potential of using R Shiny to achieve these goals.
The Challenge
The client was facing several challenges with their existing policy simulators. These simulators, developed in VB and Dot Net, were not providing the desired performance. The client was also concerned about the high costs and time involved in maintaining and using these simulators. They were interested in exploring the potential of R Shiny to improve the performance of the simulators, but they were unsure if this platform could handle the large number of components/widgets in the application. Additionally, the client wanted to redesign the simulators to make them more intelligent and interactive. They wanted a customizable user interface and the ability to generate automated BI reports.
The Solution
Datamatics developed a new Policy Simulator for the client using R and R-Shiny. This simulator was designed to help policy makers simulate the impact of changes in policy, regulation, or law. It also allowed them to create what-if scenarios on the fly by changing multiple parameters. The new Policy Simulators replaced the complex Excel sheets that were traditionally used by statisticians and policymakers. They provided an intuitive way of conducting comparison and predictive analysis without the need for assistance from technology experts. The new simulators were more efficient, cost-effective, and user-friendly than the previous ones.
