About The Customer
Deliver-It is a third-party logistics (3PL) company that provides delivery services to its clients. The company was faced with the challenge of expanding its fleet and increasing efficiency to meet the demands of a new contract. They needed a solution that would allow them to integrate new client data with existing customer/drop-off data, establish an efficient multi-drop routing system, distribute routes to drivers in bulk the night before, and maintain real-time oversight of van locations throughout the day. The company sought a solution that would not only meet these needs but also be user-friendly for their drivers.
The Challenge
Deliver-It, a third-party logistics (3PL) company, was presented with a significant opportunity when they onboarded a new client. However, this new contract posed a challenge. To fulfill the contract, Deliver-It would need to expand its fleet, hire new drivers, and increase overall efficiency. The company had received data on the drop-off locations, predicted volume, and frequency of orders from the new client. However, they needed a solution to optimize their routes and vehicle designation to meet the customer's demands and obligations. The challenge was to integrate the new client's data with existing customer/drop-off data to speed up onboarding, establish a system for efficient multi-drop routing, distribute routes to drivers in bulk the night before, and maintain real-time oversight of van locations throughout the day.
The Solution
Deliver-It implemented SmartRoutes' courier software to optimize their delivery routes. Each evening, the client would send over the order list, delivery addresses, and any specific dispatch notes. Instead of manually planning which vans would take which items, Deliver-It could upload this data to the SmartRoutes Desktop Route Planner. The software would then optimize the routes, and with a click of a button, all routes could be sent directly to the drivers. The drivers embraced the user-friendly app, which allowed them to see their routes the night before, keep track of any undeliverables, and securely keep all their proof of deliveries (PODs). The software also provided real-time oversight of van locations throughout the day, enabling Deliver-It to give their client real-time ETA updates on the deliveries.

Airport SCADA Systems Improve Service Levels
Modern airports are one of the busiest environments on Earth and rely on process automation equipment to ensure service operators achieve their KPIs. Increasingly airport SCADA systems are being used to control all aspects of the operation and associated facilities. This is because unplanned system downtime can cost dearly, both in terms of reduced revenues and the associated loss of customer satisfaction due to inevitable travel inconvenience and disruption.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

IoT-based Fleet Intelligence Innovation
Speed to market is precious for DRVR, a rapidly growing start-up company. With a business model dependent on reliable mobile data, managers were spending their lives trying to negotiate data roaming deals with mobile network operators in different countries. And, even then, service quality was a constant concern.

Digitize Railway with Deutsche Bahn
To reduce maintenance costs and delay-causing failures for Deutsche Bahn. They need manual measurements by a position measurement system based on custom-made MEMS sensor clusters, which allow autonomous and continuous monitoring with wireless data transmission and long battery. They were looking for data pre-processing solution in the sensor and machine learning algorithms in the cloud so as to detect critical wear.
