The company serves OEM customers in Asia, the USA, and Canada, and aims to meet their demands profitably. With 65 employees and an office in China, Coractive is a global player in its industry. Despite the challenges of intensifying competition and dropping product prices, the company is committed to continuing its profitable growth in international markets. To achieve this, Coractive recognized the need for a digital transformation to improve its data management and decision-making processes.
The Challenge
Coractive High-Tech, a Quebec City-based designer and manufacturer of innovative optical fibers and fiber lasers, was facing a significant challenge. The company, with 65 employees and an office in China, was struggling to manage and store their data effectively. The software they were using did not communicate with each other, leading to inefficiencies and difficulties in accessing reliable information quickly. This was particularly problematic as Coractive needed to meet the demands of its OEM customers in Asia, the USA, and Canada profitably. The company was also aiming to continue its profitable growth in international markets, a goal that was becoming increasingly challenging due to intensifying competition and dropping product prices.
The Solution
To address these challenges, Coractive embarked on a two-phase digital transformation. The focus of this transformation was on using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and real-time data to support growth and productivity. The company aimed to make quick, sound decisions based on reliable information. With the first stage of its digital transformation completed, Coractive continued to fine-tune its processes and productivity through the use of KPIs and the analysis of real-time data and projections. Isabelle Gauthier, a representative of the company, highlighted the role of KPIs and business intelligence in the company's decision-making process.
