The Challenge
Eco Eats, a food delivery service, was faced with the challenge of creating an app that not only delivers food to customers but also contributes to environmental sustainability. The team wanted to build a fully-functional web app that could efficiently manage food deliveries, offer a user-friendly interface, and incorporate features that promote eco-friendly practices. The challenge was to develop this complex app without having to code, as the team did not have extensive coding knowledge. Additionally, they wanted to ensure that the app could provide a wide range of food options from various cuisines, cater to different user preferences, and manage a large database of restaurant menus.
The Solution
The Eco Eats team chose Bubble, a no-code platform, to build their app. Bubble's point-and-click web editor and cloud hosting platform enabled them to create a fully customizable web application without the need for coding. The app includes a tour that guides users through its features such as vegan food discounts, reward points, and how to upvote features. Users can search for food, apply filters, change their location, and view progress bars representing air quality, the number of trees planted, and their reward points. The app also allows users to pay for food and have a tree planted, contributing to environmental sustainability. For charities, the app offers a Food Program where food is delivered to their program, making it easier to manage food sources.
