About The Customer
Ecobyte is an environmental app designed to help people build and sustain environmental habits through benefits. The app is targeted at individuals who are interested in leading a more eco-sustainable lifestyle. Through Ecobyte, users can discover environmental actions and sustainable brands to reduce their impact, register their environmental actions to earn points (Ecobytes), and redeem Ecobytes in benefits from allied brands. The platform is currently operating in Colombia and is intended to become a mobile app. Ecobyte is an early-stage startup, with plans to start monetizing through their allied companies and improve their metrics to raise their first funding round.
The Challenge
Ecobyte, an environmental app, was founded by Ivan Escobar and Juan Concha with the aim of helping people build and sustain environmental habits through benefits. The founders faced a significant challenge in creating a scalable, high-impact business model and web app. They wanted to build an environmental super app for Latin America, specifically starting in Colombia. However, they lacked the technical skills to create their own products and were unable to find a tech co-founder to help bring their ideas to life. They needed a platform that would allow them to quickly and efficiently create their app, without the need for extensive coding knowledge.
The Solution
The founders turned to Bubble, a no-code platform, to build their app. Bubble offered all the customization features they needed to quickly create their high-impact business model and web app. They started with a simple MVP on Jotform and Carrd.co, and as they received initial validation, they improved their platform with a Bubble web app. Bubble allowed them to make changes and iterate every week towards a better product-solution fit. It also enabled them to keep their costs very low and access great discounts for students. The platform's point-and-click web editor and cloud hosting platform allowed them to build a fully customizable web application and workflows, ranging from simple prototypes to complex marketplaces and SaaS products.
