The Challenge
Edmonds Community College faced challenges with their existing HPE blade server infrastructure, which was nearing the end of support. The complexity of managing the HPE environment was a significant issue, as it required meticulous tracking of firmware updates and compatibility. The IT team was spending excessive time on maintenance, which was not sustainable. Additionally, the college was experiencing reliability issues with their HPE SAN systems, with frequent hard drive failures. The Solution
To address the challenges, Edmonds Community College decided to transition to a hyperconverged infrastructure by adopting the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform. The IT team conducted a thorough evaluation of potential solutions, considering the cost and impact of replacing the existing HPE systems, moving to the cloud, or adopting a hyperconverged infrastructure.
