This solution included dual-facing AI Dash Cams that brought artificial intelligence into the cab to help drivers self-correct behaviors such as mobile usage and seatbelt usage, thereby preventing incidents before they happened. The solution used AI and computer vision to automatically detect when a driver was holding a mobile phone while driving or not wearing a seatbelt at the start of a trip. These features delivered optional in-cab alerts to help drivers self-correct their behavior in real-time. High-definition event footage was automatically uploaded to the Samsara dashboard for managers to review and coach drivers. This proactive approach to driver safety allowed Eurovia USA to identify and alert when risky behaviors occurred, empowering their drivers to improve their habits on the road.
