The Challenge
The Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA, faced a significant challenge in managing parking for the large number of attendees at sporting events and concerts. With a capacity to host thousands of fans, the stadium needed an efficient system to handle parking reservations and ensure a smooth arrival experience. The existing parking management system was not equipped to handle the high volume of vehicles, leading to congestion and dissatisfaction among fans. The stadium aimed to improve the fan experience by providing a seamless parking solution that would allow attendees to reserve parking spots in advance, thus reducing the stress and uncertainty associated with finding parking on game days.
The Solution
To address the parking challenges, Mercedes-Benz Stadium partnered with ParkMobile to develop a comprehensive parking reservations program. This program was launched through a custom-built website, parking.mercedesbenzstadium.com, which allows fans to find and reserve parking spots for events at the stadium. The website offers a range of features, including a visual map that displays the location of parking lots, the walking distance to the venue, and filtering options to sort lots by price, distance, and ease of exit. Additionally, the program provides special codes for suite holders and employees, granting them access to specific lots. Mobile passes are available for certain locations, and the integration with Waze offers real-time routing to the parking facility entrance. Gameday email reminders with parking information further enhance the user experience, ensuring fans have all the necessary details before arriving at the stadium.
