About The Customer
Eurotranciatura Mexico is a leading provider of electrical steel laminations in North America, primarily serving the automotive industry. Located in Queretaro, Mexico, the company operates high-speed presses ranging from 125 to 600 tons, producing loose laminations and interlocked stacks. As a major player in the industry, Eurotranciatura has experienced significant growth, doubling its size in the past two years. The company is focused on maintaining high product quality and operational efficiency to meet the evolving demands of its customers, particularly in the automotive sector.
The Challenge
Eurotranciatura Mexico faced significant challenges in maintaining product quality and operational efficiency due to its aging AS/400 system. The company needed to address these issues to support its growth ambitions, especially as customers in the automotive industry demanded higher quality standards. Additionally, the company had to manage large up-front investments in machinery and adapt quickly to changing customer requirements, which necessitated a more efficient and flexible system.
The Solution
To address its challenges, Eurotranciatura Mexico implemented the Plex Cloud ERP system, which offered a flexible and cost-effective solution. The company leveraged its internal and external contacts to identify Plex as a suitable system, with some team members having prior positive experiences with it. Eurotranciatura partnered with SCM Malagón & Asociados for a smooth implementation, going live in January 2017. The Plex platform provided enhanced production management capabilities, allowing Eurotranciatura to optimize equipment efficiency and improve product quality. The system's intuitive interface facilitated user adoption, enabling the quality assurance team to perform statistical analyses and make data-driven decisions on the production floor.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
