About The Customer
BTC Solutions is a UK-based company that offers a fully-computerized Vehicle Health Check system, autoVHC. This system provides a solution to one of the biggest performance shortfall areas in the current aftersales market. autoVHC automates the follow-up process, closing the gap in dealer profits. BTC works with more than 800 dealers across the UK and Europe, with plans to expand into China and Russia. The company was looking for a provider with the right expertise to build a lasting relationship and chose CloverETL due to its pure data integration approach.
The Challenge
BTC Solutions, a UK-based company, was facing a demand for increased performance of their autoVHC platform due to growing amounts of data and rising customer expectations for a quicker turnaround. Dealers were having difficulties accessing fresh data, leading BTC to search for an ETL tool that could handle fast-changing data. BTC had three main requirements for the data warehouse solution: Data History, Robustness, and Flexibility. The new data warehouse needed to keep track of changes and record all modifications done to the database. It also needed to be able to handle ten times more data than their current database. Lastly, the solution needed to be user-friendly, so that BTC could define and modify the transformation procedures.
The Solution
BTC worked closely with a team of consultants from CloverETL. The team assessed BTC’s current solution and discussed their plans to expand, namely into China. A completely revitalized solution was developed that will bring BTC Solutions where they want to be – a leader in the global market. The new incremental loading introduced by the consulting team improved performance immensely. Moving from the day-long delay of the previous system, the new process allows continuous loads every fifteen minutes, keeping the data readily available to customers in near real-time. Fact and dimension tables in the newly designed data warehouse have been updated and enhanced with many new validation rules, which also provide change history tracking. The automated ETL processes generate technical reports as well as log errors found during the loading process according to specification.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
