About The Customer
Grupo Munreco is a Spanish manufacturer and distributor of watches and accessories of different brands including Maurice Lacroix, Sandoz, and Viceroy. With more than 25 years’ experience, the company has become the leader in the Spanish watch sector, with a portfolio of brands serving different consumer needs. Based in Alcobendas, near Madrid, it has 200 employees. The company is committed to paying the utmost attention to detail with its products and designs. It aims to produce unique, exclusive items, customised to the needs of its customers. All the watches are original prestige pieces.
The Challenge
Grupo Munreco, a leader in the Spanish watch manufacturing sector, needed a business intelligence (BI) solution that would provide the group with fast access to all company information, as well as a tool to help managers carry out analyses from different perspectives. They wanted a solution that was flexible, fast, user-friendly, and provided self-service BI. The company wanted to optimize its order fulfillment service, monitor each and every one of the orders and repairs processes, and integrate them within an automated warehouse system.
The Solution
Grupo Munreco opted for QlikView over other more static solutions and deployed the application in the sales, purchasing, warehouse, and technical services departments. The first phase of the QlikView roll out was done in 2008, with the development of a project for the sales department. Subsequently, in 2010, a second phase was launched in which QlikView was deployed in the company’s technical services business unit. At present 10 users are working with the BI application, from area managers to the most senior executives. With QlikView, different data sources, such as SQL Server databases, Multibase, flat text files, and Excel workbooks have been integrated.
Operational Impact
  • QlikView has made it possible for Grupo Munreco to develop various projects for optimising its order fulfillment service, with a survey of product rotation by type, by brand, and by price range.
  • It helps to monitor each and every one of the orders and repairs processes. These include technician performance and incident control by brand or model, and integrating them within a automated warehouse system.
  • QlikView makes it possible to access information at any time, without it impacting on productivity or the speed of IT processes.
  • The sales and purchasing departments have benefitted hugely from QlikView. It helps to closely monitor customers and sellers, helping to take corrective steps earlier on and focus efforts and resources on the areas that really need it.
