They believe in enhancing the resident experience by embedding smart technology within the right access control system, giving their properties an added advantage.
The Challenge
Hillwood Development Company, based in Fort Worth, Texas, was looking to integrate modern, convenient amenities into their Tacara Village property. They wanted to provide their residents with a 'smart' living experience by automating technology for security, convenience, comfort, and entertainment. The company was particularly interested in offering their residents the convenience of using a smart device to simplify access throughout the property. They wanted to provide a solution that would allow residents to unlock their apartment doors for guests or dog walkers even when they were not at home.
The Solution
Hillwood Development Company partnered with dormakaba and Dwelo to integrate the Dwelo smart home platform with dormakaba’s Saffire LX Series electronic locks featuring Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) technology. The Saffire LX Series features sophisticated RFID technology in a contemporary design. These locks were designed specifically for multihousing properties and can be retrofitted into any environment for a high performance and seamless look throughout a property. Saffire is managed by dormakaba’s web-based Community™ access management software. The integration of dormakaba with Dwelo provides intuitive access management of residences, amenities, common areas, and perimeters from a single platform. It also offers the convenience of both RFID credentials such as fobs or key cards and BLE mobile access keys for a seamless experience with no need for additional software.

Intelligent Building Automation System and Energy Saving Solution
One of the most difficult problems facing the world is conserving energy in buildings. However, it is not easy to have a cost-effective solution to reduce energy usage in a building. One solution for saving energy is to implement an intelligent building automation system (BAS) which can be controlled according to its schedule. In Indonesia a large university with a five floor building and 22 classrooms wanted to save the amount of energy being used.

Commercial Building Automation Boosts Energy Efficiency
One of the challenges to building automation is the multitude of non-interoperable communications protocols that have evolved over the years. Buildings have several islands of automation. Bridging the islands of different automation without losing the considerable investment in each specialized control network is the main focus in this solution.
