About The Customer
The customer in this case study is a bank with a complex system environment, managing over 6,000 systems. The bank is responsible for ensuring the security of sensitive data, making identity and access management a critical task. The bank was already using Oracle Identity Manager for this task, but was facing challenges in terms of data transformation, process efficiency, and transparency. The bank needed a solution that was scalable, repeatable, and could be implemented quickly. The bank also needed to reduce its reliance on individual team members for critical tasks, to reduce business risk and increase transparency.
The Challenge
The case study revolves around the challenge of managing identity and access in a banking environment with over 6,000 systems. The bank needed to ensure that the right people had access to the right systems, a task that was critical given the sensitive nature of the data involved. The bank was already using Oracle Identity Manager (OIM), but transforming data into a format that OIM could understand required a large development team and a cumbersome process of getting scripts into production. The bank needed a solution that was repeatable, configurable, and could be implemented quickly. Another challenge was the over-reliance on one team member for validating user permissions, which led to business risk and a lack of transparency.
The Solution
The solution to the bank's challenges was found in CloverDX, a data integration solution. CloverDX was used to build a more automated, scalable system for managing identity and access. This system allowed the development team to build repeatable, configurable templates that could be passed on to the business team, who could then handle the majority of the identity management work. This reduced the need for a large development team and made the process of getting scripts into production less cumbersome. For the issue of over-reliance on one team member, CloverDX helped the bank quickly implement a more transparent system for validating user permissions. This avoided months of deployment, set up time, and training.

Smooth Transition to Energy Savings
The building was equipped with four end-of-life Trane water cooled chillers, located in the basement. Johnson Controls installed four York water cooled centrifugal chillers with unit mounted variable speed drives and a total installed cooling capacity of 6,8 MW. Each chiller has a capacity of 1,6 MW (variable to 1.9MW depending upon condenser water temperatures). Johnson Controls needed to design the equipment in such way that it would fit the dimensional constraints of the existing plant area and plant access route but also the specific performance requirements of the client. Morgan Stanley required the chiller plant to match the building load profile, turn down to match the low load requirement when needed and provide an improvement in the Energy Efficiency Ratio across the entire operating range. Other requirements were a reduction in the chiller noise level to improve the working environment in the plant room and a wide operating envelope coupled with intelligent controls to allow possible variation in both flow rate and temperature. The latter was needed to leverage increased capacity from a reduced number of machines during the different installation phases and allow future enhancement to a variable primary flow system.
