About The Customer
East Valley Nissan is a dealership located in Mesa, Arizona. The dealership prides itself on providing a high-quality customer experience and attributes its success to this customer-first policy. East Valley Nissan sells anywhere from 225 to 300 cars per month, both new and used, to the surrounding Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, and Chandler communities. The dealership has approximately 600 cars in its inventory and also operates a rental fleet. One of the dealership's key performance indicators (KPIs) is customer service index (CSI) scores.
The Challenge
East Valley Nissan, a dealership in Mesa, Arizona, was looking for ways to expedite the sales process. The dealership had previously used solutions that would flash the third brake light to help locate specific vehicles for test drives. However, this process was time-consuming and often led to customer dissatisfaction. The dealership found that a delay of 15 to 20 minutes in locating a car for a test drive could significantly dampen a customer's excitement and interest in the model. The dealership needed a solution that could help them locate specific vehicles quickly and efficiently, thereby improving the customer experience and meeting their key performance indicators (KPIs).
The Solution
East Valley Nissan implemented Kahu, a dealer's connected car solution. Kahu uses GPS location technology and cutting-edge smart technology to expedite the car buying process for customers. The solution not only helps locate specific vehicles across multiple lots with a 4-foot accuracy, but it also provides advanced features like battery management. This informs dealers in advance whether a car has a good battery or not, further speeding up the sales process. Kahu is preloaded onto every car in East Valley Nissan's inventory, providing a comprehensive view of the business. The solution has also proven valuable for the dealership's rental fleet operations, enabling the dealership to locate and retrieve missing rentals.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
