About The Customer
Subaru Canada, Inc. is a leading vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Mississauga. The company is responsible for the selling and marketing of vehicles, and supplying automotive parts to approximately 90 dealers across Canada. Subaru also has two regional offices in Montreal and Vancouver. The company was seeking a solution to streamline its training process and maintain its ISO 14001 certification.
The Challenge
Subaru Canada, Inc. was struggling with an inefficient training process that relied on a folder and spreadsheet system. With multiple offices across Canada, it was essential that the training requirements and materials be available to all employees in a centralized location. The company wanted to transfer the ownership of department-specific training from HR to the department managers for accurate tracking. The goal was to find a solution that would simplify the training process, save time, achieve successful audit results, and meet the requirements for ISO 14001 certification.
The Solution
Subaru Canada, Inc. chose Intelex Environmental Management as the only software that could deliver an online system with the capabilities required to meet Subaru’s objectives. Within a year of purchasing the Intelex system, it was successfully implemented and being used regularly at the main office headquarters and corporate dealership with over 170 users. It was later expanded to the Montreal and Vancouver offices. After Intelex released the ability to modify applications, Subaru implemented an average of five to seven new applications a year.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
