Keep.com is an innovative online commerce startup that provides users a place to discover and buy the latest trends in fashion, decor, accessories, and design. Unlike traditional online retailers, Keep aggregates products from across the Internet into a showcase of emerging trends. They call this Commerce 4.0, where goods from across the Web are collected and curated by people with a passion for products. Keep’s philosophy is that these passionate consumers will be better merchandisers than traditional retailers, whose merchandising decisions are dictated by business restrictions.
The Challenge
Keep.com, an innovative online commerce startup, was facing a significant challenge in managing image transformations for their website and mobile app. The application displays hundreds of thousands of product and brand images, user profile pictures, and user uploaded images. Each time a redesign took place, Keep needed new image sizes, which required reprocessing of all the images. This process was not only time-consuming from a server perspective but also caused delays in the development process due to long waiting times as all the images were being transformed. Engineering resources were wasted trying to set up new image transformations and getting jobs running efficiently. Despite these efforts, image processing remained a bottleneck, hindering the development of their website and business.
The Solution
Keep.com turned to Cloudinary, a cloud-based image management platform, to solve their image processing challenges. Cloudinary was cost-effective and allowed for fast image processing and automatic caching. It also provided a 'fetch' interface that allowed Keep to grab images directly off Rackspace, making integration very easy. This solution significantly reduced the percentage of resources Keep spent on image transformations. By leveraging Cloudinary, Keep was able to quickly process images on-demand, enabling them to swiftly push a new version of their design to production. The implementation of Cloudinary not only reduced the time required to release new image sizes but also freed up developer resources to work on other projects, further increasing Keep’s velocity of innovation.

Fire alarm systems are essential in providing an early warning in the event of fire. The fire alarm system should give immediate information in order to prevent the fire spread and protect live and property.To get maximum protection a shoe manufacturer in Indonesia opted for a new fire alarm system to monitor 13 production sites spread over 160 hectars. Although the company had an existing fire alarm system, it could not be monitored remotely.It was essential that the new system would be able to be monitored from a central control room. It needed to be able to connect to the existing smoke detector and manual call point. Information should be easily collected and passed on to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. Furthermore, the system should have several features such as alarm management, auto reporting, being connected to many client computers without additional cost, and run 24/7 without fails. The company also needed a system which could be implemented without changing the architecture of the existing fire alarm system.

Moxa was asked to provide a connectivity solution for one of the world's leading cosmetics companies. This multinational corporation, with retail presence in 130 countries, 23 global braches, and over 66,000 employees, sought to improve the efficiency of their production process by migrating from manual monitoring to an automatic productivity monitoring system. The production line was being monitored by ABB Real-TPI, a factory information system that offers data collection and analysis to improve plant efficiency. Due to software limitations, the customer needed an OPC server and a corresponding I/O solution to collect data from additional sensor devices for the Real-TPI system. The goal is to enable the factory information system to more thoroughly collect data from every corner of the production line. This will improve its ability to measure Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and translate into increased production efficiencies.
