About The Customer
NetUSE AG, founded in 1992, was one of the first Internet service providers in Germany. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest IT security and infrastructure providers in northern Germany, with 90 employees. The company covers the entire value chain, including advice, concept creation, procurement, and implementation, for continuous operation around-the-clock. NetUSE AG has over 25 years of experience and has become one of the most successful IT system houses in northern Germany. The company initially focused on providing IP packets but later realized that its customers needed additional security services.
The Challenge
NetUSE AG, a leading IT system house in northern Germany, faced a significant challenge in securing its internet-active employees and providing a comprehensive security solution while maintaining operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The company, which started as one of the first Internet service providers in Germany, had expanded into a large IT security and infrastructure provider. However, the high internet usage by its employees, including private internet usage, exposed the company to various cyber threats. The company needed a robust security solution that could cover the breadth of the landscape and protect its assets from potential cyber-attacks.
The Solution
NetUSE AG consolidated its security landscape with Check Point Infinity total protection. This comprehensive solution included Check Point Quantum Security Gateway, Check Point Harmony Mobile, Check Point Harmony Endpoint, and Check Point CloudGuard Posture Management. The company initially incorporated Threat Emulation technology and later switched to Threat Extraction, which removes exploitable content, reconstructs files to eliminate potential threats, and delivers sanitized content to users in a few seconds. Check Point SandBlast Network was added to block certain types of attachments, and Check Point SandBlast Mobile was used to protect over 100 mobile devices from threats to the OS, apps, and network. For licensing purposes, NetUSE separated its operations from its customer operations by setting up a new environment based on the Check Point Next Generation Data Protection (NGDP) technology.
