About The Customer
The customer in this case study is a large African mobile operator. The operator was experiencing significant challenges due to the exponential growth of network traffic. The operator anticipated that the subscribers’ data would double each year, which would further exacerbate the problem. The existing infrastructure was approaching capacity and there were constant interruptions on service assurance continuity. The operator needed an open platform software-based monitoring solution to support Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Cloud based services.
The Challenge
The large African mobile operator was facing a significant challenge due to the exponential growth of network traffic. The operator was experiencing frequent loss of data, which was having a substantial impact on network performance and service assurance.
The Solution
NETSCOUT®’s next generation InfiniStreamNG™ Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) solution provided the remedy to the operator's challenges. InfiniStreamNG aided this operator to evolve their inadequate monitoring solution to a virtualized model. The InfiniStreamNG solution also provided Smart Visibility during the disruptive transition to NFV, while proactively assuring service in a hybrid network environment. This solution was cost-effective and supported future growth. It also provided seamless usability of one system for multiple networks, saving on troubleshooting (OPEX).
