About The Customer
Noraqua is an engineering company based in Oporto, Portugal, specializing in hydraulic engineering. With over 35 years of experience in the field, Noraqua has established itself as a trusted and highly skilled partner for numerous companies worldwide involved in carrying, transporting, containing, or treating water. The company works on large-scale projects, including creating DWG drawing files for airports and highways. Despite not needing to create 3D solids, their work involves dealing with elevations and polylines that have Z elevations, making everything 3D for them. They require all the values to create sections.
The Challenge
Noraqua, a Portugal-based engineering company specializing in hydraulic engineering, was facing significant challenges with their existing CAD software. The company, which works on large DWG drawing files for airports and highways, some exceeding 100MB in size, was struggling with software that was slow and prone to frequent crashes. This was hampering their productivity and efficiency, as they needed a faster, more stable software solution to handle their extensive and complex work. The team needed a solution that could handle 3D values to create sections, even though they did not need to create 3D solids. The challenge was to find a software that could meet these specific needs and also be easy to adapt to for the team.
The Solution
Noraqua found their solution in BricsCAD and BricsCAD Pro permanent licenses. BricsCAD offered the speed and stability that Noraqua was looking for, enabling a much more efficient workflow for the team. The software was able to handle the large DWG files that Noraqua worked with, without the issues of slowness or crashes that they had experienced with their previous software. Furthermore, BricsCAD was easy to adapt to. According to Duarte, a member of the Noraqua team, colleagues were able to work just as well with BricsCAD as they had with their previous software after just one or two days. Over time, they became even faster, as BricsCAD is a faster software. Additionally, BricsCAD allowed the team to smoothly shift back and forth between their pipe-sizing programs and the drawings they create, further enhancing their productivity.
