About The Customer
TEIMAS, a software company that builds solutions for waste management, has been using Luzmo for its customer-facing analytics for over three years. Their platform's backend runs on MySQL, but as they dealt with more data, they felt the need for a separate analytical database like ClickHouse. Iago Elizechea, CTO at Teimas, stated that they needed to connect directly to an analytical database to improve the speed of their dashboards and ensure the performance of the entire platform. They chose ClickHouse because of its accessibility and amazing performance, especially for certain types of queries.
The Challenge
Software applications generate terabytes of data that can be used to make informed decisions. However, transforming this data into visual insights for users can be a challenge. The task of delivering analytics in SaaS is two-fold: providing an easy-to-use, interactive, and personalized experience for end-users, and building a coherent and high-performing data architecture with tailored visualizations quickly and painlessly. The more advanced the analytics, the harder it becomes for developers to maintain. Additionally, there is the complexity of data security, ensuring that each user only has access to their personal data. The challenge lies in scaling tailored insights to hundreds or even thousands of users.
The Solution
The solution to these challenges is the use of embedded analytics tools, which combine an easy-to-use UI for non-technical users with a powerful and consistent API for developers. Luzmo, an embedded analytics platform, allows for the injection of personalized reports and dashboards, interactive exploring, and fast-loading dashboards into a platform with one snippet of code. Luzmo's powerful API allows developers to plug Luzmo's analytics straight into their platform, re-using any authentication or business logic already built inside the software. This speeds up the development cycle while retaining full control over the analytics feature set. ClickHouse, a columnar database designed with aggregations in mind, provides a high-performance and scalable database solution for customer-facing, ad-hoc aggregations and analytics.
