About The Customer
Orange Business Services is a leading network service provider with over 65,000 clients and 200,000 hosted sites. The company is committed to improving its technical efficiency and financial profitability. The Centre for Internet Support (CIS) within Orange Business Services is responsible for a significant portion of tasks related to DNS services management, from server configuration to the creation of zones resource records. The company operates across the country, with its exploitation teams spread out, requiring access to interfaces from any workstation, regardless of their administrative profile.
The Challenge
Orange Business Services, a major network service provider, was facing challenges in managing their heterogeneous infrastructure. They had 250 DHCP servers from different constructors, some managed centrally, others independently. This led to a large amount of repetitive administrative tasks, which had to be performed during off-peak hours to avoid impacting service availability. The company also wanted to delegate some administrative tasks to non-expert administrators, but needed a tool that could provide simple interfaces and reject input errors.
The Solution
Orange Business Services chose EfficientIP and its software SOLIDserver to improve the management of their offer. SOLIDserver dynamically takes into account any changes in the DNS services configurations, updating servers in real time without service interruption. This technology reduces maintenance times and increases the quality and reactivity of the service offered to clients. SOLIDserver also simplifies delegation by splitting simple and elementary administrative tasks to meet the various technical profiles of administrators. For each entry field in SOLIDserver interface, a compliance check is performed to verify the formats and data validity in the specific context. A module within SOLIDserver was designed to manage the administrative rights on resources of specific groups of users.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
