About The Customer
Orangebox is part of the Steelcase Inc. group of companies and is a UK-based designer and manufacturer of furniture for the changing workplace. The company focuses on smart working solutions, creating furniture that fosters collaboration while providing contemporary aesthetics, visual/acoustic privacy, and commercial-grade performance. Orangebox has over 450 employees who work at either the head office and manufacturing site in Nantgarw, smart working sites in Huddersfield and London in the UK, New York and Grand Rapids in the US, or out of Dubai in the UAE. All of these locations deliver products designed expressly for the collaborative workplace, connecting people, not furniture.
The Challenge
Orangebox, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of furniture, had recently deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Field Service to their 30 UK-based installation and service engineers. They were looking for a solution that would be tightly coupled with their core Dynamics 365 planning tool to deliver an improved customer experience. This platform would automate notifications to both customers and internal teams. Additionally, Orangebox also hoped to eliminate additional location tracking hardware, required for track trucks and vans.
The Solution
Resco Routes provided the integration with Dynamics 365 combined with location tracking capabilities that Orangebox was looking for. This solution enabled them to reduce vehicle tracking hardware costs by having a mobile device tracking system alternative running on engineers’ phones. Orangebox most praised the possibility to display scheduled jobs and all related information on the map view. Time Shift is the Resco Routes feature that allows Orangebox to see the past movement of engineers and how much time they’ve spent on each job. Having this information readily available contributes to improving schedule analysis efficiency and allows for more accurate planning of future assignments.

IoT-based Fleet Intelligence Innovation
Speed to market is precious for DRVR, a rapidly growing start-up company. With a business model dependent on reliable mobile data, managers were spending their lives trying to negotiate data roaming deals with mobile network operators in different countries. And, even then, service quality was a constant concern.

Vehicle Fleet Analytics
Organizations frequently implement a maintenance strategy for their fleets of vehicles using a combination of time and usage based maintenance schedules. While effective as a whole, time and usage based schedules do not take into account driving patterns, environmental factors, and sensors currently deployed within the vehicle measuring crank voltage, ignition voltage, and acceleration, all of which have a significant influence on the overall health of the vehicle. In a typical fleet, a large percentage of road calls are related to electrical failure, with battery failure being a common cause. Battery failures result in unmet service agreement levels and costly re-adjustment of scheduled to provide replacement vehicles. To reduce the impact of unplanned maintenance, the transportation logistics company was interested in a trial of C3 Vehicle Fleet Analytics.

Zonar Takes the Wheel with a M2M Solution
Zonar’s fleet management solutions collect, report and analyze data before, during and after a vehicle’s trip. The company needed Machine-to-Machine (M2M) connectivity to enable communication between in-vehicle devices and back-end systems. To deliver high volumes of potentially sensitive information from and to moving vehicles – and keep pace with its rapid business growth – Zonar wanted a highly secure solution that it could easily manage and that had the required national and global reach.
