The Challenge
Owens Corning, a global company with operations in 33 countries, faced a sudden need for additional capacity from its Santa Clara insulation manufacturing plant. The challenge was to find a freight provider that could deliver excellent service and meet the increased demand. The company's logistics operation for its insulation products is more 'just in time' than many realize, with tight delivery windows to distributors who often have installation crews waiting to unload the truck, load their own truck, and take it to the job site for installation. The company needed a solution that could not only meet the increased demand but also integrate seamlessly with its operations and provide superior service to its customers.
The Solution
Owens Corning partnered with Convoy, a digital freight network, to source outbound truckload capacity from its Santa Clara plant. Convoy leveraged its network of continuously vetted carriers to provide superior service for the outbound Santa Clara freight. Through Convoy's power-only program, Owens Corning was able to smooth its facility operations. Convoy serviced outbound Santa Clara freight and picked up more insulation business, delivering to Owens Corning customers, including insulation distributors. Convoy Go's drop trailer pool allowed Owens Corning to use labor more efficiently and smooth its facility operations. Additionally, Convoy's ability to integrate with Owens Corning's visibility solution provider of choice enabled Owens Corning and its customers to track the location of all shipments.

Intelligent Building Automation System and Energy Saving Solution
One of the most difficult problems facing the world is conserving energy in buildings. However, it is not easy to have a cost-effective solution to reduce energy usage in a building. One solution for saving energy is to implement an intelligent building automation system (BAS) which can be controlled according to its schedule. In Indonesia a large university with a five floor building and 22 classrooms wanted to save the amount of energy being used.
