The Challenge
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted the traditional education system, forcing parents to seek alternative methods of schooling for their children. The Parent Teacher Network (PTN) was created to address this challenge, providing a platform for parents to connect with other families in their area and form learning pods or co-ops. However, the founder of PTN, Elise Moore, faced a significant hurdle in the development of the platform. As a musician and audio engineer with no experience in building web apps, she needed a cost-effective solution that did not require coding expertise.
The Solution
Moore turned to Bubble, a leader in the no-code movement, to build the Parent Teacher Network. Bubble offers a powerful point-and-click web editor and cloud hosting platform that allows users to build fully customizable web applications and workflows. With the help of Bubble builders Sergey Shpa and Pargev Kocharyan, Moore was able to create a social networking tool that allows parents to find other families in their area to create pod schools, learning co-ops, and provide childcare support during the pandemic. Users can create a profile for their family, filter search results based on family details, primary language, schools, and schooling interests, and message each other in the app to share contact info and make plans.
