The Challenge
PROTORIA, a retail service provider for Samsung in Ukraine, faced challenges in managing its multichannel retail operations. The company needed to modernize its IT infrastructure and main retail website to enhance its digital customer experience. The stakeholders identified the need for a comprehensive digital asset rationalization to streamline operations and improve customer engagement. The primary challenge was to adopt a cloud-based infrastructure that would support the company's long-term strategy and provide a seamless omnichannel experience for customers. PROTORIA sought to address these challenges by collaborating with Cloud Services, a Microsoft partner, to develop a cloud adoption plan that would modernize its IT infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
The Solution
PROTORIA partnered with Cloud Services, a Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Services Provider, to modernize its IT infrastructure. The collaboration began with a Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) workshop, which helped PROTORIA develop a comprehensive cloud adoption plan. The workshop facilitated the identification of relevant workloads for migration to Microsoft Azure, enabling PROTORIA to maximize the benefits of cloud technology from the outset. Over three years, PROTORIA migrated its on-premises enterprise resource planning (ERP) and relational database systems to Azure, resulting in significant infrastructure and administration savings. The company also transitioned its website to Azure App Service and Docker containers, enhancing scalability, resiliency, and security. In the final phase, PROTORIA optimized its analytics and data warehouse by migrating to Azure Synapse from on-premises SQL, and adopted Microsoft Power BI for advanced reporting and analytics. This strategic approach allowed PROTORIA to embrace cloud technology fully, resulting in improved operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
