The Challenge
PROTORIA, a retail service provider for Samsung in Ukraine, faced challenges in managing its multichannel retail operations. The company aimed to update its long-term strategy by adopting cloud solutions to modernize its IT infrastructure and enhance its digital customer experience. The stakeholders identified the need for infrastructure modernization and the main retail website to facilitate a seamless digital customer experience. PROTORIA sought to address these challenges by collaborating with Cloud Services, a Microsoft partner, to develop a cloud adoption plan and migrate its infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
The Solution
PROTORIA partnered with Cloud Services, a Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Services Provider, to embark on a three-year journey of IT infrastructure modernization. The collaboration began with a Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) workshop, which helped PROTORIA create a comprehensive cloud adoption plan. The plan included infrastructure and security assessments to determine migration scenarios and calculate costs. Cloud Services identified mission-critical priorities for PROTORIA, such as Infrastructure as a Service, legacy web application modernization, high resiliency for web applications, cost efficiency, and data analytics modernization. Over the three years, PROTORIA migrated its on-premises ERP and relational database systems to Azure, resulting in infrastructure and administration savings. The company also migrated its website to Azure App Service and Docker containers, enhancing scalability, resiliency, and security. In the final year, PROTORIA optimized its analytics and data warehouse by transitioning to Azure Synapse and embraced Microsoft Power BI for reporting. This comprehensive approach enabled PROTORIA to leverage Azure's capabilities for improved operational efficiency and customer experience.
