About The Customer
Pergo is a leading manufacturer of high-quality laminate flooring for both home and commercial environments. The company is headquartered in Trelleborg, Sweden and has achieved approximately $450 million in revenue with 650 employees. Pergo operates in the Mill Products industry and has a significant presence in North America and Sweden. The company's products are known for their quality and durability, making them a preferred choice for many homeowners and businesses. Pergo's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction has made it a leader in its industry.
The Challenge
Pergo, a leading manufacturer of high-quality laminate flooring, was facing challenges in managing customer relationships and reacting to changes in demand. The company needed a solution that would provide its sales representatives with an immediate overview of retailer performance. This would enable them to better manage customer relationships and gain visibility to more effectively react to changes in demand. The company also wanted to ensure product availability in stores by better managing logistics data and proactively identifying potential out-of-stock situations through more accurate inventory analysis.
The Solution
Pergo deployed QlikView to approximately 350 users across six functions in North America and Sweden. The solution provided visibility into key areas of the business via dashboards with drill-down capabilities. It allowed for the assessment of POS and inventory data by product and retailer, better management and analysis of customer care data, and more coordinated and accurate production planning based on store-level sales and inventory trends. QlikView also helped in more effectively managing credit administration analysis and budgeting analysis of actual versus target spending. The implementation took 2 weeks compared to 13 months for Cognos. Of the BI community, 90% access QlikView while 10% use Cognos. QlikView Server and Publisher were leveraged to aggregate data from Movex on IBM System i (AS/400), Excel and text files.
