About The Customer
Ray White is a well-known name in Australia and New Zealand, associated with the property and real estate industry, home loans, mortgages, and insurance. The company, which has been family-owned for 110 years, specializes in residential property, primarily auctions, but also deals with commercial property management and a range of financial services. Ray White employs 10,000 agents across 1,000 offices and sells one in every 10 houses across Australia and New Zealand. The company's key performance indicator is market share, and it is constantly striving to improve through more offices or more productive offices.
The Challenge
Ray White, the largest real estate company in Australia, was looking for a way to improve their market share and make their agents more effective. They wanted to provide their agents with better information about themselves and their offices, so they could then provide that information to their consumers, making them better agents overall. They also wanted to differentiate themselves in the marketplace by providing unique, high-quality visualizations in their reports. However, they faced challenges in terms of making this information easy to use and accessible for their agents, many of whom were not very analytical.
The Solution
Ray White implemented Tableau Server to provide their agents with better information about themselves and their offices. Approximately 1,000 business owners use Tableau Server to access everything from key KPIs like market share to salesperson performance and overall office performance in their market. The company also built a custom layer over the top of Tableau Server, called the Document Builder, which allows agents to customize reports for individual salespeople in any suburb or area in the entire country. These reports are then used by agents when they are out in the field talking to potential clients. The company also integrated Tableau with their intranet, allowing agents to access the different reports published for them directly from the intranet.
