About The Customer
MyCreativeShop is a company that offers product customization for customers to create print designs. Their product range includes brochures, flyers, postcards, and door hangers. The company prides itself on its ability to provide customers with the tools to create unique, personalized designs. However, they faced a challenge in providing customers with a realistic preview of their designs, which was crucial in helping customers visualize the final product. This challenge was impacting customer satisfaction and potentially affecting sales.
The Challenge
MyCreativeShop, a company specializing in product customization for print designs, faced a significant challenge in providing their customers with realistic previews of their designs. Customers found it difficult to visualize what their designs would look like once printed, as the company was only able to provide flat, static images of the finished designs. The company explored various solutions, including Photoshop alternatives and running ImageMagick on their server, but these options were not scalable and involved complex task management.
The Solution
MyCreativeShop found a solution in Cloudinary, a cloud-based image and video management solution. Cloudinary's robust image transformation capabilities allowed MyCreativeShop to transform flat images into realistic, dynamic previews of the finished designs. By adding URL parameters to an image stored in Cloudinary, MyCreativeShop could manipulate the image in various ways, such as turning it into a table tent, cutting a hole in a door hanger, or folding it into a trifold brochure. The company identified several key image transformations that were integral to their success, including image distortion, image cut out, and overlay. These transformations allowed them to distort shapes, create masking effects, and overlay multiple images.
