About The Customer
RydeSplit's customers are individuals who are looking for a more comfortable and affordable alternative to public transportation, as well as those who want to reduce their fuel costs and contribute to reducing traffic congestion. The service is particularly beneficial for those who travel in the same direction regularly, such as workers commuting to and from the same workplace. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, RydeSplit had begun partnering with construction companies to build customized carpool networks for workers commuting to and from construction sites.
The Challenge
RydeSplit was founded by Calvin Kabanda with the aim of addressing two major problems in transportation. Firstly, public transportation is often overcrowded, particularly during rush hour, making the journey uncomfortable for passengers. Secondly, highways are frequently congested with traffic, leading to increased fuel consumption and costs for individual drivers. Kabanda believed that transportation should be sustainable, affordable, and comfortable, and saw an opportunity to address these issues by creating a carpooling network. However, the challenge was to build an app quickly and efficiently to test the viability of this concept.
The Solution
To address these challenges, Kabanda turned to Bubble, a no-code platform that allowed him to prototype his app quickly using its plugins, elements, and integrations. The RydeSplit app works by allowing users to fill out their weekly ride offers or requests. The app then connects them with fellow drivers and passengers. When a ride offer or request matches a user's, a notification is sent. The cost of the trip is split between the driver and the 'Ryders' (passengers), making the trip more affordable for all parties involved. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team is considering limiting the number of bookings a driver can accept within the app, based on vehicle capacity.

Airport SCADA Systems Improve Service Levels
Modern airports are one of the busiest environments on Earth and rely on process automation equipment to ensure service operators achieve their KPIs. Increasingly airport SCADA systems are being used to control all aspects of the operation and associated facilities. This is because unplanned system downtime can cost dearly, both in terms of reduced revenues and the associated loss of customer satisfaction due to inevitable travel inconvenience and disruption.

Digitize Railway with Deutsche Bahn
To reduce maintenance costs and delay-causing failures for Deutsche Bahn. They need manual measurements by a position measurement system based on custom-made MEMS sensor clusters, which allow autonomous and continuous monitoring with wireless data transmission and long battery. They were looking for data pre-processing solution in the sensor and machine learning algorithms in the cloud so as to detect critical wear.

Vehicle Fleet Analytics
Organizations frequently implement a maintenance strategy for their fleets of vehicles using a combination of time and usage based maintenance schedules. While effective as a whole, time and usage based schedules do not take into account driving patterns, environmental factors, and sensors currently deployed within the vehicle measuring crank voltage, ignition voltage, and acceleration, all of which have a significant influence on the overall health of the vehicle. In a typical fleet, a large percentage of road calls are related to electrical failure, with battery failure being a common cause. Battery failures result in unmet service agreement levels and costly re-adjustment of scheduled to provide replacement vehicles. To reduce the impact of unplanned maintenance, the transportation logistics company was interested in a trial of C3 Vehicle Fleet Analytics.
