About The Customer
Labeyrie Fine Foods is a prominent European group in the agro-food sector, headquartered in St Geours de Maremne in the Landes region. The company owns several well-known brands, including Layberie, Blini, Delpierre, le Traiteur Grec, Farne of Scotland, Lyons Seafoods, Père Olie, and King Cuisine. With a workforce of approximately 5,000 employees spread across 20 sites, Labeyrie Fine Foods is a rapidly evolving industrial group that frequently integrates new acquisitions. This dynamic environment necessitates the optimization of time and resources, as well as simplicity in administration. The company's digital transformation efforts are focused on finding efficient solutions that yield better outcomes while saving time.
The Challenge
Labeyrie Fine Foods, a European agro-food group, faced challenges in optimizing its security infrastructure. The company had been using two different antivirus software vendors for over a decade, but the emergence of threats like cryptolocker highlighted the need for a more cohesive and effective solution. The existing antivirus solutions were not sufficient to guarantee optimal protection, and they introduced issues such as extra modules, time-consuming updates, and slower endpoints. Labeyrie needed a solution that would not obstruct or slow down work while providing robust protection against evolving threats.
The Solution
Labeyrie Fine Foods decided to upgrade its security infrastructure by adopting SentinelOne's Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP). This next-generation solution offers automated protection for endpoints and servers, combining prevention, detection, and management of threats in a unified platform. The EPP utilizes advanced machine learning and automated processing to detect malicious behavior from various attack vectors in real-time, without relying on threat signature updates. Labeyrie conducted a successful proof of concept (POC) in full-cloud mode, which demonstrated the solution's effectiveness in handling complex threat analysis transparently. The company chose to integrate SentinelOne's solution with the Security Operations Center (SOC) of its partner, IMS Networks, to streamline administration and enhance security.
Operational Impact
  • The integration of SentinelOne's solution with IMS Networks' SOC has significantly reduced the administrative burden on Labeyrie's security team.
  • The SOC receives alerts and has an escalation process to prioritize threats based on severity, allowing the security team to focus on proactive and pre-emptive measures.
  • The solution has a lighter impact on endpoint devices, resulting in fewer user complaints and less need for regular scans.
  • Labeyrie's security team has shifted from a reactive to a proactive posture, optimizing time and improving management efficiency.
