About The Customer
SizweAfrica is a business and technology consulting company that helps companies of all sizes manage their operational performance and cost activity. They specialize in providing design, implementation, and support services in the areas of supply chain design & execution. Using their practical supply chain experience, they assist their customers in identifying and developing the appropriate measures and action plans to optimize supply chain activities. As a technology consulting company, they design, implement, and support all services specializing in enterprise visibility, as well as supply chain design, planning, and execution.
The Challenge
SizweAfrica Business Consulting's clients are involved in supply chain activities. With the rising cost of gas, maintenance, and operations, there has been an increased focus on optimizing revenue streams. The concept of data visualization is fairly new, and many companies are still using outdated methods of tracking their performance. This has led to a reactive business model where companies are often unaware of the profitability of their accounts and routes. The challenge was to change this reactive model to a proactive one using data visualization.
The Solution
SizweAfrica used Dundas Dashboard to visualize important data, allowing their customers to determine route-level profitability and see the real-time cost breakdown of fuel consumption, maintenance, vehicle time, and other customized KPIs. This enabled their clients to make more informed decisions when selecting and allocating routes for vehicles. When the software was linked to the telematics system in the vehicles, clients were able to use dashboards to track fleet management and receive metrics for vehicle movement, customer delivery time, and idling. This comprehensive solution improved operations across all facets of the client’s supply chain including distribution, and inventory.

Remote Temperature Monitoring of Perishable Goods Saves Money

Manual registration practice can be very costly, labor intensive and prone to mistakes.

IoT-based Fleet Intelligence Innovation
Speed to market is precious for DRVR, a rapidly growing start-up company. With a business model dependent on reliable mobile data, managers were spending their lives trying to negotiate data roaming deals with mobile network operators in different countries. And, even then, service quality was a constant concern.

Vehicle Fleet Analytics
Organizations frequently implement a maintenance strategy for their fleets of vehicles using a combination of time and usage based maintenance schedules. While effective as a whole, time and usage based schedules do not take into account driving patterns, environmental factors, and sensors currently deployed within the vehicle measuring crank voltage, ignition voltage, and acceleration, all of which have a significant influence on the overall health of the vehicle. In a typical fleet, a large percentage of road calls are related to electrical failure, with battery failure being a common cause. Battery failures result in unmet service agreement levels and costly re-adjustment of scheduled to provide replacement vehicles. To reduce the impact of unplanned maintenance, the transportation logistics company was interested in a trial of C3 Vehicle Fleet Analytics.
