About The Customer
Liston Newton Advisory is a B2B financial service and accounting practice that helps business owners grow and scale their companies by providing backend accounting, payroll, taxes, and advisory services. The company has 30 employees and six offices across Australia, the Philippines, and India. They are planning to expand into all major cities in Australia, including Sydney and Brisbane. The company strongly believes in standardizing their services to ensure that all clients receive the same level of service, regardless of who they interact with.
The Challenge
Liston Newton Advisory, a B2B financial service and accounting practice, was facing significant challenges in standardizing their services across their six offices in Australia, the Philippines, and India. As the company grew, they needed to onboard new staff quickly and efficiently. However, the use of Microsoft Word documents and standard procedure templates led to confusion and inefficiency. Updating procedures was a cumbersome process and it was difficult to establish a single source of truth for the most up-to-date procedures. The company tried several strategies to solve this issue, including creating a version history of procedures and designating a leader for procedures. Despite these efforts, they were unable to solve the problem, leading to wasted time and resources.
The Solution
Liston Newton Advisory turned to SweetProcess, a tool that helps businesses to document and streamline their procedures and workflows. The company's director, John Liston, found SweetProcess through a Google search and was reassured by the fact that it allows users to download all their data. Despite initial skepticism about the time it would take to learn a new application, Liston found that SweetProcess was simple to use and made the training process considerably more streamlined. The company now uses the tag function within SweetProcess to easily search procedures by tag and has broken everything down into three categories – accounting, wealth, and administration for findability. SweetProcess has also proved valuable for setting up company policies, which can now be easily accessed by employees at any time. The tool has also sped up the employee onboarding process considerably.
