About The Customer
The Central Bottling Company (CBC) Group holds the Coca-Cola franchise for Israel and is the nation’s leading manufacturer and distributor of beverages. It is among Coca-Cola’s largest bottling facilities worldwide. Products range from mineral water to soft drinks, from all-natural fruit juices to beer. Franchise brands include Coca-Cola, Sprite, FUZE tea and Fanta. Annual revenue is more than 2 billion euros.
The Challenge
The Central Bottling Company (CBC) Group, which holds the Coca-Cola franchise for Israel, wanted to mobilize its retail portal as part of a broader initiative to speed up the ordering process. Smaller retailers were still placing orders with on-site sales people and through an online portal. By mobilizing the portal, the CBC Group aimed to create a convenient self-service channel for retailers. The Mobile Enterprise Application Platform (MEAP) needed to work with the largest variety of operating systems and offer superior time to market at minimal cost and with maximum internal support.
The Solution
The CBC Group selected Software AG’s webMethods Mobile Suite and consulting services to provide the solution. The retail portal is now available “on the go,” which greatly increases the efficiency of the ordering process. Retailers use the app to place orders and also get up-to-date information on product availability and delivery dates. In addition, the CBC Group uses the app to provide relevant information in real-time to target groups. The application is the first of its kind in Israel. Using webMethods Mobile Designer, the group develops mobile apps for multiple platforms and then deploys them natively to multiple mobile devices. The mobile channel is considered to be fast and dynamic. Software AG technology and consulting services helped prove a MEAP could be implemented and deliver results in only four months.
Operational Impact
  • The CBC Group has doubled in efficiency and profit margins.
  • The retailer satisfaction index has risen significantly because retailers now have more flexibility in the way they order products, thanks to a channel that’s available in real-time, anytime.
  • The mobile channel is considered to be fast and dynamic.
Quantitative Benefit
  • Doubled efficiency
  • Significant increase in retailer satisfaction index
