About The Customer
The Curated Coffee serves two main types of customers: independent and small-batch coffee roasters, and coffee lovers. The coffee roasters, who are partners on the platform, get to showcase their best products to a wider audience. They have the freedom to manage their own product pages in the marketplace. The coffee lovers, or 'coffeeholics' as they are referred to, get to explore, sample, and purchase coffee from these independent roasters. They can also interact with the roasters, cafés, and baristas, learn about different roasts, and get home brewing tips. They can subscribe to affordable subscription plans that allow them to start with sample packs before choosing a specific brand of coffee.
The Challenge
The Curated Coffee, founded by Raj Menon, is a virtual marketplace that aims to connect independent and small-batch coffee roasters with coffee lovers. The challenge was to create a platform that allows coffee roasters to showcase their products and coffee enthusiasts to explore, sample, and purchase these unique offerings. The platform also needed to facilitate interaction between all stakeholders in the coffee ecosystem, including roasters, cafés, baristas, and coffee lovers. Furthermore, the platform needed to incorporate a feedback system for customers to review the products they have tried. The challenge was not only to build such a comprehensive platform but also to do so in a cost-effective manner, given the financial constraints typical of startups.
The Solution
The solution was found in Bubble, a no-code platform that allows users to build fully customizable web applications. Raj Menon, who is a product development manager at a large IT firm and an experienced Bubble user, decided to use Bubble to create The Curated Coffee. The platform allows coffee sellers to join as partners and manage their own product pages in the marketplace. Coffee lovers can sign up for the newsletter, subscribe to subscription box plans, or buy coffee from the marketplace. A feedback system is also being built to allow subscribers to leave reviews of the products they have tried. Bubble's low development costs and the ability to build new modules with practically no added cost, except for the monthly subscription, made it the perfect tool for this project.
