About The Customer
The Hub is an online marketplace that connects brands with creators. It offers a platform for more than 39,000 photographers, videographers, and models, allowing brands to quickly find and hire highly vetted talent for their next project. The Hub platform decentralizes the creative process, changing the way brands hire creators. Instead of committing all creative resources to one agency, brands can access a wide range of talent through The Hub. The platform also serves as a community for creators to connect with one another. Job posting, hiring, project management, the transfer of deliverables, and final payment to the creator all take place directly and securely in The Hub.
The Challenge
The Hub, an online marketplace that connects brands with creators, was facing a challenge with the storage and resizing of large image and video files uploaded by creators to their personal portfolios on the platform. The Hub needed as many as 10 unique size and aspect combinations for each uploaded primary image, which was a time-consuming process that burdened its team of front-end developers. The two options they had were either to restrict the creative community to abide by a maximum pixel size and file size or to allow creatives to upload large files and then manually downsize them to the largest resolution needed. Both options were not ideal as they either limited the creative community or burdened the Hub's team.
The Solution
The Hub decided to use Cloudinary to automate the process of resizing and optimizing the images and videos uploaded by creators. Cloudinary's solution allowed The Hub to dynamically transform the assets, saving time and resources that would have otherwise been spent on manual resizing by the front-end developers. The Hub leverages Amazon Simple Storage Services (S3) for storage, and Cloudinary for dynamic asset optimization for portfolio uploads. This streamlined the creation of portfolios available for brands to browse, thanks to automated asset manipulation and content delivery.

Building Smart IoT-Connected Railways
• Difficult environment. Communications equipment on trains must function properly in harsh conditions, such as environment temperatures ranging from -25°C to +85°C, according to the EU standard EN50155.• Railway regulations. All products in a train must adhere to strict standards, relating to working vibration, power consumption, and lifetime.• Lengthy process. Time to market in the railway industry can take years from concept to mass production, so product design requires a solid long term vision.

SAS® Analytics for IoT: Smart Grid
Companies face falling revenues, rising infrastructure costs, and increasing risk of outages caused by inconsistent energy production from renewable sources. Less money is coming in as more people and organizations take steps to curb their energy use. Utilities are paying more to maintain and build infrastructure due to increasing complexity, resulting from the rising number of intermittent and variable renewable energy sources connected in the distribution grid.
