About The Customer
Tutorpillar is designed for tutors who are passionate about their skill and believe in being paid properly for their services, rather than receiving a small commission from a tutoring company. It is also for students who are looking for genuine and caring tutors with standardized pricing and flexible schedules. The platform aims to improve lesson efficiency and increase revenue for tutors by offering a more diverse and inclusive range of services. It also aims to provide a place for tutors to separate their work from the rest of their life and increase their revenue without having to hire other tutors.
The Challenge
Tutorpillar, a tutoring business management platform, was founded by Ella Persse, a financial analyst with a background in economics who also ran an English tutoring business. The challenge was to create a platform that could host all the necessary features to run a successful tutoring business without having to write code. The platform needed to be user-friendly for both tutors and students, allowing tutors to set their availability and pricing, and students to browse through profiles and book tutors. The goal was to reinvent tutoring to ensure that students are connected with genuine and caring tutors that have standardized pricing, flexible schedules and are personally invested in their success.
The Solution
Tutorpillar chose Bubble, a no-code platform, to build their tutoring business management platform. Bubble enabled them to add all the features they wanted without having to write code. The platform operates as a double-sided marketplace where students can sign up, browse through tutors' profiles, see their availability and pricing, and book once they have added a payment method. Tutors can sign up for free, fill out their profile, set their availabilities, and set up their Stripe account before they can take bookings. Once they have completed their profile and signed up for Stripe, they are then visible to students and are ready to be booked. They are notified when they get a booking, which they can join or cancel at any time through their dashboard.
