About The Customer
SwipedOn is a cloud-based registration application that automates the admittance of employees and visitors in office buildings. The application offers a cloud dashboard that can sync with multiple iPads, providing a comprehensive office management system. SwipedOn is used in over 20 countries, serving the corporate offices of major companies such as Cigna, GE, Hugo Boss, and 20th Century Fox. The SwipedOn mobile app allows employees and visitors to intuitively log in using their personal details, granting secure access to an office building.
The Challenge
SwipedOn, a cloud-based registration application, was facing a significant challenge in its office management system. The application, used in over 20 countries and serving corporate offices of major companies like GE, Hugo Boss, and 20th Century Fox, had no efficient way of notifying employees when their visitors had arrived or confirming entry access for employees. The company had tried using email notifications as a solution, but this proved ineffective as many emails were left unread and messages were not delivered in real time. This lack of real-time communication was a major hurdle in the smooth operation of office management, affecting the overall user experience.
The Solution
In order to address this challenge, SwipedOn turned to SMS notifications for their ubiquity, high open rate, and simplicity. The company integrated the Vonage SMS API into their system, enabling instant SMS notifications for all check-in kiosks. This solution provided a reliable and real-time notification system that significantly improved the check-in process. Additionally, SwipedOn utilized Vonage's pay-as-you-go pricing model, which allowed them to scale their traffic as the company grew. This strategic integration of the Vonage SMS API not only solved the immediate challenge but also provided a scalable solution for future growth.

Intelligent Building Automation System and Energy Saving Solution
One of the most difficult problems facing the world is conserving energy in buildings. However, it is not easy to have a cost-effective solution to reduce energy usage in a building. One solution for saving energy is to implement an intelligent building automation system (BAS) which can be controlled according to its schedule. In Indonesia a large university with a five floor building and 22 classrooms wanted to save the amount of energy being used.
