About The Customer
Established in 1998, Yes Satellite is Israel’s only provider of multi-channel broadcasts via satellite and the first to offer digital broadcasts and interactive television services. With 2,300 employees, it provides the widest choice of channels at the highest quality with innovative technology and superior customer service. After 15 years in the industry, Yes Satellite has over 580,000 customers and represents approximately 40% of the multi-channel television market.
The Challenge
As a leading provider of home media entertainment, Yes Satellite wanted to enhance their services and provide over-the-top content to customers. In order to provide services like video on demand (VOD), Yes Satellite needed a global load balancing solution with low latency. Their main priority was to secure a solution that provided load balancing and integrated security with one management system.
The Solution
To solve these challenges, Yes Satellite deployed Radware’s advanced global load balancer to help optimize server operations through load balancing, consolidation and virtualization. Additionally, it easily handles the influx of requests Yes Satellite experiences, by reducing the requests and maintaining service at all times. In order to protect against network and application downtime, Yes Satellite deployed Radware’s DefensePro. A real time, behavioral based attack mitigation device, DefensePro provides security for distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation and SSL-based protection to fully protect applications and networks against known and emerging network security threats. Both solutions are managed by APSolute Vision, a unified management and monitoring tool that provides immediate visibility to health, real-time status, and performance from one centralized location. This management system was the perfect fit for Yes Satellite as it eliminated the need for deploying management appliances in multiple data centers - simplifying data center management.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
