About The Customer
Copart, Inc., headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is a global leader in online vehicle auctions and a premier destination for the resale and remarketing of vehicles. The company operates an innovative technology and online auction platform that connects buyers and sellers worldwide. With more than 200 locations in 11 countries, Copart auctions over 125,000 vehicles daily. The company employs 6,000 people and is committed to maintaining a robust information security infrastructure to protect its operations and customer data. Copart's CISO, Joshua Danielson, is focused on enhancing the company's security measures to address evolving cyber threats and ensure the safety of its digital assets.
The Challenge
Copart's information security team was operating a full stack of security products to protect its 6,000 employees. However, the CISO, Joshua Danielson, sought a more robust security stack that could provide real-time visibility into threats and prevent attacks across the kill chain. The primary challenge was to find a solution that could eliminate 'end-run' attacks, which typical defenses often miss, and provide detailed, actionable information. Additionally, the solution needed to be easy to deploy and use, despite its powerful capabilities. Danielson wanted a proven endpoint detection and response (EDR) solution that could integrate well with various products and provide high-quality threat intelligence.
The Solution
After an extensive evaluation of solutions, Copart selected the CrowdStrike Falcon platform for its superior real-time monitoring capabilities that cover detection, response, and forensics. The platform ensures that Copart misses nothing and leaves attackers with no place to hide. The CrowdStrike Falcon platform is distinguished by its threat intelligence capability, which provides high-quality, useful alerts, and its lightweight agent with a small footprint and open API for integration with various products. The Falcon Intelligence team enables Copart to understand which worldwide adversaries could be targeting its assets, providing valuable intelligence for the board of directors. This intelligence allows Copart to align business risk and justify additional resources for its security program.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
