About The Customer
Stonescapes is a commercial concrete and paver contractor based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company has experienced significant growth over the past few years, which led to the realization that their traditional pen and paper processes were no longer efficient or scalable. They were struggling with managing payroll through handwritten timesheets, which were difficult to track and process. Their scheduling system was also analog, leading to a lack of visibility and forecasting difficulties. The company's leadership recognized the need for a digital solution to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and support continued growth.
The Challenge
Stonescapes, a commercial concrete and paver contractor based in Las Vegas, Nevada, was grappling with the inefficiencies of their pen and paper processes. As the company grew, these processes became increasingly cumbersome and time-consuming. The payroll was managed through handwritten timesheets, which were not only difficult to track but also posed a scalability issue. The more jobs Stonescapes took on, the harder it became to collect and process these timecards. Additionally, the company was always a day behind in data analysis, making it difficult to manage budgets effectively. The scheduling system was also analog, with superintendents handwriting schedules and sharing them via group chats. This process lacked visibility and made forecasting a challenge.
The Solution
Stonescapes decided to digitize their operations to improve efficiency and scalability. Their first step was to switch to digital timecards using Google Sheets, which saved time but still didn't allow for effective data utilization. After trying several tech solutions that didn't fit their needs, they switched their accounting software to Acumatica, a cloud-based ERP, and adopted Assignar. Assignar allowed workers on job sites to enter their timesheets on their phones or iPads, eliminating the need for paper timecards. Job codes were pre-populated into the system, making it easier for field workers to log their hours. Assignar's integration with Acumatica ensured accurate, real-time data without the risk of human error. It also helped manage cost codes and job numbers more effectively, reducing confusion and inaccuracies. Furthermore, Assignar improved budget management and decision-making by providing daily visibility into field operations.
