About The Customer
Ekstra Bladet is the largest tabloid newspaper in Denmark, employing more than 300 people. The company's website receives 250 million page views per month, with about half of these views coming from mobile devices. In addition to its print and online news services, Ekstra Bladet also operates a Web TV service that receives 18 million monthly views. The company is a major player in the Danish media market and is constantly looking for ways to stay on top of the ratings.
The Challenge
Ekstra Bladet, the largest tabloid newspaper in Denmark, needed a way to monitor and analyze their content performance in real-time. They wanted to make informed decisions about what content should be prioritized on the front page, measure results on every area of the front page, and monitor their competition's page views, visits, and time spent on page. The challenge was to find a solution that could provide these insights and be used across the organization, from editors and journalists to the UX/design team and executives.
The Solution
Ekstra Bladet chose to use Klipfolio, a real-time analytics platform. Klipfolio dashboards are used widely throughout the organization, with content performance information displayed on big screen TVs throughout the office. The company has 85 Klipfolio users and has created approximately 125 Klipfolio dashboards. Editors use the dashboards to monitor which articles or clips are being viewed and make real-time decisions about what should be bumped to the front page. The UX/design team uses Klipfolio dashboards to measure results on every area of the front page. Journalists have their own personalized dashboards that list their articles and bylines, allowing them to see how each article is performing and aiding decisions on future articles. The Web TV department uses dashboards to see which videos are performing best. Ekstra Bladet’s executives monitor their competition’s page views, visits and time spent on page.
