About The Customer
The Hershey Company, a renowned American candy maker, has been a staple in the confectionery industry for over a century. Known for its iconic products like Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and Twizzlers, Hershey has established a global presence, with its products enjoyed in over 60 countries. As a large corporate entity, Hershey is committed to delivering quality and innovation in its products, while also focusing on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The company’s extensive network and operations require robust and reliable IT solutions to maintain its market leadership and continue its legacy of delivering beloved treats worldwide.
The Challenge
Hershey was facing challenges with its outdated DNS and DHCP management solution, which was cumbersome and inefficient. The existing system required significant operational care and feeding, leading to high costs and inefficiencies. The company needed a modern solution that was easier to use and more efficient to operate, to support its global network and improve business operations.
The Solution
Hershey selected Infoblox as its new DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (DDI) solution. Infoblox was chosen for its market leadership and functionality, offering a consolidated platform that simplifies DNS load balancing operations. Key features of the solution include a granular role-based interface, the ability to block malicious sites, and a hands-off upgrade capability. Infoblox DNS Traffic Control (DTC) was particularly impressive, consolidating DNS capabilities and global server load balancing onto a single platform. This allowed Hershey to direct users to the closest data center or application, improving performance and disaster recovery capabilities. The implementation was supported by Infoblox Professional Services, ensuring a smooth transition and successful deployment.

HEINEKEN Uses the Cloud to Reach 10.5 Million Consumers
For 2012 campaign, the Bond promotion, it planned to launch the campaign at the same time everywhere on the planet. That created unprecedented challenges for HEINEKEN—nowhere more so than in its technology operation. The primary digital content for the campaign was a 100-megabyte movie that had to play flawlessly for millions of viewers worldwide. After all, Bond never fails. No one was going to tolerate a technology failure that might bruise his brand.Previously, HEINEKEN had supported digital media at its outsourced datacenter. But that datacenter lacked the computing resources HEINEKEN needed, and building them—especially to support peak traffic that would total millions of simultaneous hits—would have been both time-consuming and expensive. Nor would it have provided the geographic reach that HEINEKEN needed to minimize latency worldwide.
